About
Angeline Miller

I understand what it’s like to be in therapy, because several years ago I found myself in need of a therapist. I had reached the edges of my capacities in all areas of my life: identity, career, family, relationships, and spirituality.

Through hard work and the steadfast support of a skilled counselor, I discovered healing and growth. Overtime, I built a stable, enjoyable, connected life in the midst of the chaos I had known. After experiencing how therapy can change a life—had changed my life—I decided to become a therapist. I hope to offer you the same unwavering, warm, attentive, and authentic help that I received.

With it, I dream you’ll take your life back or build it from scratch the way you wish it had been designed for you. I hope you become acquainted with your inner voice that has been there all along. And that you welcome yourself back home into your body, mind, and soul.

I enjoy working with anyone who wants to reevaluate their life and relationships and is committed to the healing process—especially in the areas of identity & meaning, spirituality, trauma, grief and loss (of all kinds) and life transitions. Because of my identity as a mixed race Filipina and Caucasian woman, I understand the strengths and challenges of living with complexity and invite my clients to bring their whole, authentic self into their therapy. Take a look at my specialties here.

My approach is depth-centered, attachment-based, and experiential. What that means is that I will often get curious about the underlying/root causes of your everyday problems. I work relationally, valuing your unique voice, needs, and contribution to the therapy process. Our work may bring up past pain, and so we will always be mindful of the way old wounds impact current situations and relationships. With your permission, we will look for opportunities to bring present healing to past pain so that you can move forward in your relationships and goals.

Although I pay attention to how your past experiences may shape your current experience, we will also actively work with what is happening in the present— both in your life right now and immediately in the room between us. By doing this, we move beyond just talking things out, and into a new relational experience. I am committed to bringing our work into the present, rather than getting stuck in the past, because research shows that having a new, positive relational experience in therapy literally rewrites the neural pathways in our brain toward growth and health.

When I’m not working with clients or nerding out about therapy, I love exploring my creative side. In fact, my earliest healers were an electric guitar, pen & paper, and acrylic paint. I am a firm believer in the restorative and liberating power of artistry and creativity as companions in the process and am happy to support you in incorporating creativity into your therapy—whether you identify as an “artist” or “creative” or not! Also, I live in Austin, TX with my partner and 2 kids. On our favorite days, we’re either visiting the farmer’s market, enjoying dinner with good company, or going on a morning hike or park date.
