Warm, authentic, culturally-affirming therapy in Austin, TX

Whether you are exploring who you are and where you are going, navigating a major life transition or decision, grieving loss (of all kinds), or managing the daily stressors of living in this world with your unique mind, body, & spirit, counseling can offer a safe and attuned space for you to pause, reflect, and grow into your most authentic self.

"I don’t think there’s such a thing as a bad emotion. The only bad emotion is a stuck emotion."

—Rachel Naomi Remen

The following may strike a chord:

You feel exhausted. You sense a change needs to happen in your career/relationship/family/faith/identity/_____, but it’s overwhelming to consider adding another thing to the list. You feel alone. Perhaps worse, you feel disconnected from yourself. You look in the mirror and can’t recognize the person who stares back at you. You spend a lot of time trying to please others and who they want or need you to be. So much so that you’re starting to wonder who you really are underneath the self-doubt, comparison, and outside pressures.

You might vacillate between feeling down and depressed and frantic and overwhelmed. You need and crave some sense of balance, compassion, and nourishing connection to yourself and others. You want to move towards your potential with a greater sense of peace, excitement, and confidence.

What can therapy
do for you?

Our work can offer a safe space for you to take a much-needed exhale. As the dust settles, we’ll tenderly examine the repetitive patterns that may have worked for a time, but feel like they’re holding you back now. Painful or distressing emotions may arise, and I will help you hold and process these emotions, so that, rather than getting stuck, they can move through your system—bringing you out on the other side with a fuller sense of your authentic self.

Counseling with me will feel incredibly warm and inviting. I work hard to earn your trust and establish an environment where you feel safe enough to explore and share your inner feelings, fears, joys, and needs. I take an integrative and holistic approach, paying close attention to your past, present, and future; your mind, body, and soul; your areas of strength and resilience, as well as your pain and challenges. There is no one way of doing therapy, and so together we’ll find what works for you. My primary goal is to create a space where you can reflect on, reconnect with, and reclaim your story. We humans tend to feel safest and most able to do this when we feel seen and accompanied through the intensity of our lives.

Hi, I’m Angeline (Angel).

I identify as a mixed-race (Filipina and white), Asian American mental health therapist. I collaborate with diverse individuals in Austin, TX and across Texas (via telehealth and in person sessions) as they discover meaning, healing, and new possibilities during tough seasons in life. I come into this work with a lot of hope and faith in the process because I myself have experienced deep healing and empowerment through my personal therapy. I feel excited to join people who feel stuck and are wondering whether they are “good enough” to achieve their dreams or who haven’t had the space to dream at all. I welcome and celebrate clients from diverse backgrounds and intersectional identities, including those who identify as mixed race, multicultural, and other marginalized identities.

I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a LPC Associate supervised by Michelle Silva Segura, LPC-S, LMFT-S, SEP at Healing Tree Counseling, PLLC in Austin, TX. I invite you to reach out for a free phone consultation to connect and explore the possibility of working together.
